My Way
A functional request (mand), for example in FCT
One large button. Each push says “my way.” Select the child on the button (20 children) and the voice (10 voices).
When
- Teach a request for “my way” as a replacement for problem behavior.
- Use when you want a simple, reliable speech-output button that counts responses.
Why
- The target is large and accepts any touch.
- Different recordings prevent a robotic or boring sound.
- The learner can see a child who looks like the learner, and hear a voice that is correct for the learner. There are girls, boys, and gender-neutral children with different skin tones and hair. There are feminine, masculine, and neutral voices.
- The app counts each press, so you get frequency and rate data without a clicker.
How
- On the setup screen, open More settings. Select a Picture and a Voice. To hear a voice, tap it.
- Tap Play. When a learner is selected, the choices become the preset of that learner.
- Put the device where the learner can touch it.
- Prompt as your plan tells you. When the learner pushes the button, give the learner what the learner requested.
- Back cancels the last press. If there are no presses, Back goes to setup. There you can change the picture or voice.
Saved to the dashboard: Each press. The dashboard shows the presses today, in the last 7 days, and for each session. It also shows a 14-day chart and the rate per minute.
