# Barriers Checklist

Scoring 24 learning barriers from 0 to 4

24 learning barriers. Each barrier has a short definition and a score from 0 to 4. The tool shows the totals and a graph over time.

## When

-   Use with each Milestones assessment.
-   Plan which barriers to address first.

## Why

-   Rater agreement on barriers is only moderate (Montallana et al., 2019), so the tool includes a second-rater option.
-   Use it to plan, not to measure outcomes. In research, Barriers totals did not correlate with Vineland problem-behavior scores.

## How

1.  Select the learner.
2.  Open **Barriers Checklist**.
3.  Tap **New assessment**.
4.  For each barrier, tap a score from 0 to 4. To clear a score, tap it again.

**Saved to the dashboard:** Your score for each barrier, for each assessment date. The dashboard shows the latest total (a lower total means fewer barriers) and rater agreement.
